BADMINTON

I still play badminton over the weekend when I am not working on my academic monograph. Lifelong ethics, philosophy, and discipline that seeped into my academic career from my professional sporting one have sustained me so far. Here are some of my achievements:

2017, 2019, & 2022 Gold (Columbia U. Badminton Team), Eastern Collegiate Team Badminton Championship (Division A).

2015 Recipient of the West Bengal ‘Khel Samman’ Award for Badminton (Highest Sporting Award in an Indian state for contributions to a sport).

2011 Represented Indian Badminton Team at XXVI Summer Universiade, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

2010-13 ‘University Blue,’ University of Calcutta.

2010 Gold (XD), Silver (MD), Bronze (MS), Indo-Bangla Games, Kolkata.

2008, 2009 Bronze (XD), All India Junior National Badminton Championship.

2005 Gold (U-14 Singles) 50th National School Badminton Championship.

2003-2017 Gold, West Bengal Badminton State Championship.
